About Joanne Rubin, Ph.D.

I have been a psychologist for over 40 years, providing psychotherapy and writing, consulting and teaching. I trained for many years in several psychotherapy and growth models, including Integral psychotherapy and consciousness development, psychodynamic therapy, bioenergetics, Gestalt, couples and family therapy, spiritual/transpersonal psychotherapy, meditative and contemplative studies, Therapeutic Touch and Reiki, and insight meditation. I have a Masters degree and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Univ. of Pennsylvania, and a Masters degree in Consciousness Studies (Univ. of Philosophical Research, headed by Jeffrey Mishlove).

I am a past and present student of Ken Wilber.

I have:

-taught Integral theory and applications to psychology

-hosted teleconferences with Integral Institute core faculty

-studied systems theory and communications

-studied the esoteric aspects of major world religions

-had insight meditation training 

-been certified to teach Buddhist Insight meditation

-had occasional training in energy healing

-been a reviewer for the Journal of Integral Theory and 

  Practice

-served on the Executive Committee of the NY City Integral

  Salon and MeetUp

-joined the new APA Division 32 Consciousness Task Force
